Another self-care strategy that helps me is staying connected to my friends and family. When I am feeling down, it’s easy for me to isolate myself. 

But, I know that reaching out and talking to people who care about me is one of the best things I can do. Talking to someone who understands what I’m going through can be really helpful.

  1. Make Exercise Part of Life

Exercise releases endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects. A workout also distracts you from ruminating on negative thoughts, and can give you a sense of accomplishment. 

You don't have to go to the gym or lift weights to get these benefits. Even a brisk walk will do. Just make sure to get up and move every day.

Lastly, it is also part of self care that we don't take it to that extent where even we ourselves cannot help ourselves. If I’m feeling really down, I know that it’s okay to seek help from a therapist or counselor.
